Auckland University will be hosting the annual New Zealand Law Students’ Association’s (NZLAS) conference this week, with organised activities for representatives from the country’s law schools ranging from mooting competitions, a cocktail party, as well as an Amazing Race-inspired journey around Waiheke Island in Jeeps.
An education forum will also be held, featuring speeches from practitioners and academics, in addition to its annual council meetings.
Students will participate in four competitions – Bell Gully Mooting, Russell McVeagh Client Interviewing, Minter Ellison Rudd Watts Witness Examination, and Buddle Findlay Negotiation, with competition winners going on to represent New Zealand at an international level.
The crowning event of the Conference will be a black tie dinner on Saturday at Hopetoun Alpha, which will be attended by Governor- General and University of Auckland Law School alumni, Anand Satyanand.
