56 pages of faces to deface to change the face of student media, face

Salient feature writer Sarah Robson has been appointed editor of Salient for 2010.

The 21-year-old Political Science honours student and two-time ASPA award winner will take the reigns from current editor Jackson James Wood in February next year.

“I’m very excited. 2009 is going to be a tough act to follow,” said Robson while cutting out pictures from the latest issue of NW magazine.

“There will be less MC Chris, less Lonely Island and more Blondie.”

Current editor Jackson James Wood was happy with Robson’s appointment.

“I’m ecstatic. It means continuity with leadership at Salient, and I’m sure 2010 will be another fantastic year.”

Salient staff were also excited to hear of Robson’s ascent to editor.

“Who is this ‘Sarah’ character?” asked Chief Sub-Editor Michael Langdon.

“I’m pretty sure she’s got an honours essay due, so she should prob get on that,” said News Editor Michael Oliver.

“Ahh, I think you’ll find it’s fewer MC Chris,” said Designer Rory Harnden.

Robson, who has often lamented the sausage-festy atmosphere that’s permeated around the Salient office in ’09, says ’10 is going to be a more open year.

“As someone who was fired by Jackson on a daily basis for the past nine months, I think I’ve done well for myself.

“Oh shit, I’ve just realised I’m the editor of Salient next year. Shitfuck,” Robson said.

Current editor Wood reminded Robson that while he was still in charge, he didn’t want to hear her problems. Robson promptly fired Wood and left the office on the back of her theme music, Blondie’s ‘Call Me’.
