Vic’s sorority Sigma Omega Pi held its launch party last week – a fundraiser for the Child Cancer Foundation.
The party, themed Pirates and Fairies, raised money for the Foundation, to go towards an attempt to save the Wellington Hospital Children’s Ward from downsizing.
Sigma Omega Pi President Melissa Barnard says the party was “great” and that she “had a blast”. Doors sales alone raised $550 for the charity.
The sorority is expected to affiliate to VUWSA after the mid-term break, and is planning upcoming events, including a Halloween party, and self-defence courses for Women’s Week.
