By-election date set. At last.

News

The dates for the by-election to fill the vacant positions on the VUWSA exec have finally been set.

Acting officers were appointed to fill the vacant positions at the start of the year. Several positions, including Vice-President (Administration) and Vice-President (Education) were uncontested in the general election for the 2010 exec held in September last year.

Nominations for the vacant positions are open from 12–16 July.

Campaigning will take place in the second week of the trimester, and students will be able to vote online and at polling booths from 22–29 July.

The vacant positions are: Vice-President (Administration), Vice-President (Education), Queer Officer, International Officer and the Publications Committee Representative.

Salient will be bringing you full election coverage over the next few weeks.

International Officer resigns

Alice Pan resigned from her position last week as VUWSA International Officer.

Her resignation was effective immediately.

Pan resigned so she could focus on her studies in trimester two.

The vacant position will be contested at the upcoming VUWSA by-election.
